abstract = "To verify the temporal characterization and radiation balance in
Pentecoste_CE city using SRTM data and seven spectral bands of
Landsat 5-TM, this study was aimed. There were evaluated two
images obtained in 7/21/1991 and 7/14/2006 implicating the
following classes: agriculture, anthropical, water, native
vegetation and forest using maximum likelihood method and Surface
Energy Balance Algorithm for Land SEBAL. The albedo and vegetation
index were obtained by reflective channels (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and
7) and the temperature of each pixel with Landsat 5-TM thermal
channel (6). The water class presented 6.761 and 7.689 ha in
7/21/1991 and 7/14/2006, respectively. The surface albedo varied
between 10 and 85% in Pentecoste city at both dates. The water
presented low temperature, while the high temperatures were
verified in anthropical areas. The less NDVI value was observed in
water, while high values were observed in forest. The highest LAI
values were observed in irrigated areas, with 2.36 and 2.87 in
1991 and 2006, respectively. The net radiation (Rn) presented low
values at anthropical class and high values at water class. The
GIS application to the city characterization showed effective to
the execution of several works.",
